Golfing Days & Schneider Electric Corporate Golf Day

Golfing Days Ltd would like to thank Schneider Electric for choosing us as their official Corporate Golf Day organiser.

30 of Schneider Electric’s clients and employees attended St Mary’s Golf & Country Club, Wales for a day of great golf and competition over 18 fabulous holes of golf. The weather stayed fine and the golf club served up great food during the day.

The various competitons ran on the day were extremely close and the results are below.

Nearest the pin – Steve Owen

Longest Drive – Chris Griffiths

Team winners – Tom Wilde, Chris Griffiths, Tony Ward and Neil Richens

Schneider Employee winner – Ceri Evans 30 points

1st place guest – Neil Richens 34 points (back 9 of 19 points)

2nd place guest – Ian McPherson 34 points (back 9 of 9 points)

3rd place guest – Tony Ward 31 points

4th place guest – Brian Jones 29 points

Golfing Days Amateur Golf Tour – Event 6

August 23rd, 2010

Golfing Days 6th event of their 2010 golf tour took place on Friday 30th August 2010 at Beeston Fields GC, Nottingham.

The event as always was extremely well attended  on what was our first wet day of the year on the tour.

The competiton was a 3/4 handicap stableford played on a superb course in great condition. All competitors enjoyed their days golf. The golf club was a very friendly relaxed environment with great food served before and after the round.

The results are as follows.

1st Vincent Townley Moss 36 points

2nd Neil Ratcliffe 35 points

3rd Alex Bond 34 points

The Nearest the pin was won by Derek Mcdonald and longest drive byAlex Bond. Congratulations to all our prize winners.

Golfing Days would like to congratulate Vince on a great score. It was Vince’s second win in 2 years on the tour.

Golfing Days Amateur Golf Tour – Event 5

Golfing Days 5th event of their 2010 golf tour took place on Friday 23rd July at Aston Wood Golf Club, Sutton Coldfield.

The event as always was extremely well attended and on a perfect day scoring was very high with you needing at least 36 points to get into the top 10.

The competiton was a full handicap stableford played on a lovely course in great condition. All competitors enjoyed their days golf.

The results are as follows.

1st Greg Gilmore 46 points

2nd Howard Owens 42 points

3rd Neil Ratcliffe 41 points

The Nearest the pin was won by Allan Jones and longest drive by Joel Newland. Congratulations to all our prize winners.

Golfing Days would like to congratulate Greg on a great score, which has now resulted in his handicap being reduced by 4 shots over the season through our events.

Our next event is at Beeston Fields GC, Notts on August 2oth.

Golfing Days Amateur Golf Tour – Event 4

June 29th, 2010

Golfing Days 4th event of their 2010 golf tour took place on Friday 25th June at Horsley Lodge Golf Club near Derby.

The event as always was extremely well attended and the day was a scorcher with temperatures hitting 28 degrees.

The competiton was a 3/4 handicap stableford played on what we and our competitors on the day described as the best greens we have seen this year. The course measured 6100 yards with the greens being its best defence.

The results are as follows.

1st Joel Newland 35 points (18 points back 9)

2nd Mike Dean 35 points (17 points back 9)

3rd David McNair 34 points

The Nearest the pin was won by Nigel Chaplin and longest drive by Tony McDonald. Congratulations to all our prize winners.

We have now had 4 different winners in our our first 4 events which now sees Joel Newland topping the Order of Merit but it is extremely tight at the top with still everything to play for. The next event is only 4 weeks away and will be held at Aston Wood Golf Club.

Leicestershire Business Golf Trophy 2010

June 22nd, 2010

The Leicestershire Business Trophy was held at Longcliffe Golf Club on Thursday June 17th, 19 teams of 4 battle it out over a golf course in top quality. Mitech Systems of Ashby came out on top from Sparkhill Electical Contractors by one point to become the third winner of this prestigious trophy.

The day was enjoyed by 76 golfers, the weather was perfect all competitors were pictured by our professional photographer Dean O’Shea from Cave Photography. These picture can be viewed via www.cavephotovideo.webs.com, and all pictures are purchasable if you contact Dean.

At this years event we supported the Help for Heroes charity and we are delighted to report that we managed to raise over a £1,000 for this great cause throughout the day, we thank everyone for their contributions
