Beese burns up the Forest of Arden

February 18th, 2012

Golfing Days opening event of their 2012 Midlands Amateur Tour took place at The Forest of Arden on Friday 17th Feb 2012. Its now become the home of our first event as in the winter it is always in great condition. The greens where very slick for February and somewhat challenging for all the competitors. After the cold weather we have been experiencing we were treated to a barmy spring like day with temps as high as 12 degrees.

It was great to see a full field for our opening event and all competitors enjoyed themselves. They all started off with bacon rolls, played the magnificent Arden course and finished of with prizes and a fish and chip dinner

Jonathan Beese took the spoils with a magnificent 41 points and now is the early leader in this years Order of Merit and a chance to win a superb holiday to Antequera in Spain courtesy of Villegas Golf Ltd.

1st Jonathan Beese– 41 points

2nd Sean Pearson – 36 points

3rd Vince Townley-Moss – 35 points

The nearest the pin were won by Philip Hatton and the longest drive by Richard Blower.

In the 2′s sweep Stephen Watson and Nick Gardener won £36 each. Congratulations to all our daily prize winners.

Our next event is at The wonderful Stapleford Park on March 23rd. Hope to see you there.
